eText Progress Manager

Use eText Progress Manager to monitor and mentor the progress of typeSmart students or users in groups or classes.

An online version will soon be available — iEPM (internet eText Progress Manager).  iEPM is only available to those schools, colleges, businesses and other organizations using typeSmart.

About eText Progress Manager

eText Progress Manager is used by Leaders, Teachers and Trainers to monitor and mentor the progress of individual typeSmart students in groups or classes. It allows the Leader to view and print out:

• list of your typeSmart students or clients.
• individual typeSmart Progress Records.
• list of typeSmart class groups and their progress summaries.

In the Setup Options facility, you can customize the Progress Manager according to the labels used by your organization, for example, “students” or “clients” or “classes” or “groups”.

Using eText Progress Manager

All your students’ Progress Records must be stored in a single folder, but sub-folders are permitted. The folder must be accessible to the Progress Manager. You can put a mix of Windows and Mac files in the same folder, if you wish.

Always start by updating the Progress Manager, using the Update Progress Manager button on the Main Menu.

Progress Manager will ask you to locate the most current typeSmart Progress Records.Follow the instructions on screen.

As a trial, you can use the sample Progress Records we have provided as part of the installation in a folder called “Sample Prog Records” in the application directory (you can delete these at any time). These have already been imported into Progress Manager as sample data, prior to installation, but will be replaced by your students Progress Records the first time you do an update.

Requirements for iEPM

Available for Windows 95. 98, NT, 2000, Me and XP and Mac OS9.

To use the full iEPM, you must have …

• iEPM subscription license
• version 3.3 or higher of typeSmart

Upgrading from typeSmart 3.2

Progress Records produced by typeSmart version 3.2 can be used by version 3.3 but these will open with default information in the ‘Your Details’ panel. It may be necessary to go to this panel and check, perhaps to correct the User ID, and insert a password.
